Stuff that’s so awesome it hurts, Vol. 15

This week’s volume includes a few things for kids and a few modern interpretations of traditional concepts. All good stuff, as always, so enjoy!

1. Magic Carpet. I think this is for kids, but whatever. It’s great and adults should get to use it, too.  This flying carpet is so much fun! I could sit on it and pretend Aladdin’s flying me around… Um, nevermind.

2. Eliza J Satin Dress. Ooooh, this color. I love it.  The best part of this dress is definitely its beautiful blue color. The other best part? This dress is now 50% off at Nordstrom. Say hello to my 2008 holiday party dress.

3. Bestever Giraffe and Monkey Baby Mats. These are a little bit creepy and a little bit cute. This baby looks terrified of the monkey she’s resting on, but I like the idea of these mats. They’re like animal skin rugs, minus the animal skins (insert Sarah Palin joke here). Cute.

4. Bella Mod Floral in Pinks Apron by Boojiboo. What a pretty retro apron! I enjoy cooking from time to time, and I would love a nice apron to cook in. It’s kinda June Cleaver, but that’s ok. There are lots of other patterns to choose from, so you could find one that was less pink.

5. Domestic Modern White and Black Floral Rug. I love this oversized, contemporary take on a fairly traditional rug pattern. The black and white is bold and dramatic, but it doesn’t seem too loud or busy.  I would love to make this the focal piece of a living room.

That’s all for this week. See you next time!
